Absolutely Positively East Berlin
Close on Auckland’s heels, Wellington City Council is also considering cracking down on capitalism’s colour. (Dominion Post, p.A8, Billboard backlash hits capital). Urban planning director Ernst Zollner says, “increasing complaints about billboards meant Wellington bylaws would be revisited early next year.” Whether that’s because there are more billboards or just more whining isn’t clear.

A European city with no billboards.

The council appears to have embraced the use of billboards, last year.
The method and tools to be used for this exercise will be a series of media releases and distribution of newsletters to groups and organisations. The promotion will continue through the formal consultation period and will be directed at the general public –
the
use of billboards and posters will be employed as they have been in previous years.
